I believe that mediation is not just about the issues on the table but the human emotions behind them. What I bring to the mediation is the ability to help parties discover the human aspect to their problems with both an individual and collective understanding to reach better solutions for the long term. Through empathetic listening skills I prefer to establish a relationship of trust with the parties and spend some time in the rapport-building exercise so that communication becomes smoother and more transparent. I am willing to bring creative processes into the mediation, such as using poetry as a tool for effective mediation, to help this communication and understanding between parties to enable them to preserve their relationships as well as safeguard their interests.
