Course Overview

We are delighted to offer our internationally recognised Civil/Commercial Mediation Training Programme to UWE students.


Whether you are looking to start a new and exciting career in alternative dispute resolution, or simply 

wishing to develop your existing skill set, this course will equip you with all the necessary skills 

needed to practice as a successful accredited Civil/Commercial Mediator.


This programme provides you with first class training as a Civil/Commercial Mediator. 

Our programme is written and delivered by our pool of global experts who have decades 

of alternative dispute resolution experience. 


Successful completion of the programme will allow you to gain the status of

 ‘ ADR ODR International Accredited Civil/Commercial Mediato r’.


Our programme is recognised by the UK Civil Mediation Council (CMC) and certified by 

International Mediation Institute (IMI). This gives it an internationally recognised kite mark of 

excellence, this means that our graduates obtain a prestigious qualification and have greater 

opportunities to begin their mediation practice in multiple jurisdictions across the world.

Course Aims

This six-day course aims to teach each delegate the theoretical and practical skills needed to become a successful civil/commercial mediator. 

The course will be a hybrid course (3-days online and 3-days in person) or online.

Course Details

The course will cover some of the following topics: the history and future of mediation, the psychology of conflict, negotiation and cultural context. 

The course also covers the various stages of a mediation and with the supervision of a trainer, each delegate is guided on how to successfully navigate each stage effectively. 

 Following completion of the theoretical and practical stages, each delegate will have the opportunity to implement the skills they have acquired by conducting a full mediation before the final assessment day.

DDRS Diploma

Did you know that this course is one of four courses that make up the DDRS Diploma? By completing this course, you gain specialised skills in dispute resolution while also earning credits towards the prestigious Certificate of
Advanced Studies (CAS) in International Business Disputes from the University of Lausanne (subject to meeting the university's requirements). Additionally, these credits can count towards an LLM in Dispute Resolution with a fee reduction of up to 25%.
