Civil-Commercial Mediation Training Course
Course Overview
Our Internationally Accredited Civil/Commercial Mediation Training Programme is currently offered in Uganda in partnership with Wope Nam Mediation and Arbitration Office. We are extremely proud to bring this course to Uganda with Wope Nam.
This programme provides you with 40-hours of first class training as a Civil-Commercial Mediator. Our programme is written and delivered by our pool of global experts who have decades of alternative dispute resolution experience. Successful completion of the programme will allow you to gain the status of ‘ADR ODR International Accredited Civil-Commercial Mediator’.
Our programme is accredited by the UK Civil Mediation Council. This gives it an internationally recognised kite mark of excellence, this means that our graduates obtain a prestigious qualification and have greater opportunities to begin their mediation practice in multiple jurisdictions across the world. Our course is also SIMI accredited which means that our delegates can apply to become a SIMI Level 1 mediator. Additionally, the Civil/Commercial Mediation Training Certificate by ADR ODR International, holds recognition from the Thailand Arbitration Centre (THAC). Individuals who successfully complete the Civil/Commercial Mediation Training can also attain membership to the THAC panel.
Course Aims
The course aims to teach each delegate the theoretical and practical skills needed to become a successful civil/commercial mediator.
Course Details
The course is scheduled for 24th to 28th September from 9:00am to 5:00pm daily.
You will cover some of the following topics;
The history and future of mediation,
The psychology of conflict,
Negotiation and cultural context.
The course also covers the various stages of a mediation and with the supervision of a trainer, each delegate is guided on how to successfully navigate each stage effectively.
Following completion of the theoretical and practical stages, each delegate will have the opportunity to implement the skills they have acquired by conducting a full mediation before the final assessment day.
DDRS Diploma
Did you know that this course is one of four courses that make up the DDRS Diploma? By completing this course, you gain specialised skills in dispute resolution while also earning credits towards the prestigious Certificate of
Advanced Studies (CAS) in International Business Disputes from the University of Lausanne (subject to meeting the university's requirements).
