In Partnership with BARBRI
ADR ODR International is proud to collaborate with BARBRI to deliver globally recognised preparation pathways for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).
As dispute resolution, arbitration and commercial practice continue to grow globally, international dual-qualified lawyers are increasingly sought for their knowledge and expertise across several jurisdictions. Through our partnership with BARBRI, a global leader in legal education, we support lawyers from around the globe who wish to pursue international qualification pathways in England & Wales and the United States.
Candidates can receive exclusive, discounted rates on BARBRI courses through AOI.
With over 50 years of global legal education expertise, BARBRI has supported legal professionals worldwide in preparing for highly competitive legal examinations through structured and flexible preparation courses.
A Flexible Path to Dual-Qualification
BARBRI’s programmes recognise that many international lawyers continue practising while studying. Courses are therefore available in multiple durations, both part-time and full-time, ensuring progress at a pace that aligns with their workload and personal commitments.
Most of BARBRI’s international lawyers have successfully completed their dual-qualification whilst working or studying simultaneously
Why Dual-Qualification Matters for Dispute Resolution Lawyers
For lawyers working in litigation, arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution, dual-qualification is a strategic career investment.
England & Wales is a highly influential legal market. Qualification in this system can help practitioners expand to advising clients on cross-border disputes, better support international clients and differentiate themselves in a competitive global legal job market.
This can open significant career opportunities, strengthen professional credibility and enable further expansion into an international client base.
Qualifying as a Solicitor in England & Wales via the SQE
The Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) is an independent, centralised assessment which is the single route to qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales. The exam consists of the SQE1 and SQE2 assessments, which test your Functioning Legal Knowledge (FLK) and your practical legal skills, respectively.
There is also a Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) component for which international lawyers may be eligible for exemption, depending on prior experience.
SQE1 – Functioning Legal Knowledge
SQE2 – Practical Legal Skills
