Professional Experience

Mrs. Sheela Balsari has been an Advocate for over five decades, from the Chambers of senior Advocate Dhirendra Parikh. Enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa in 1968. Her law practice primarily included litigations in the Bombay High Court, City Civil Court and Family Court.

Mrs. Sheela Balsari now practices exclussively as a Mediator. She is founder member and Vice-President of the Associate of Mediation Practitioners.

She has conducted nearly 280 mediations with a high (80%) success rate, and is focused on pre-litigation mediation in matrimonial, family, commercial, property and contract mattes. She is empanelled by the Bombay High Court Main Mediation Center, the Bombay City Civil and Sessions Court, Maharashtra state Legal Services Authority, and the Mumbai District Legal services Authority. 

She has held various honorary posts in the past including:
(a) Co-ordinator and faculty member at the Bombay University for the post graduate certificate course in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)              conducted jointly by the Hon’ble Bombay High Court and Bombay University;
(b) Honorary ADR Co-ordinator for the Bombay City Civil and Sessions Court from 2004 to 2012;
(c) Mediator in several mediations referred to by the Supreme Court of India, Bombay High Court, City Civil and Sessions Court and Family Court;
(d) Resource person (for training) for the Bombay High Court, conducting seminars    
       and workshops on ADR across Maharashtra.
