Peer Mediation

Peer Mediation
Train the Trainer Course

Course Overview

The 3 day Train the Trainer Peer Mediation Programme is designed for teachers, teaching assistants and other individuals that are closely involved in the development and growth of children and wish to learn how to apply negotiation and mediation skills to real life conflicts in classrooms and schools.

Our School-based peer mediation programme is a restorative student-facilitated conflict resolution action plan for the students by the students. Peer mediation programs help empower students to transform potentially destructive situations into opportunities for learning and personal growth. Students learn how to manage conflicts constructively and how to negotiate mutually agreeable solutions. Peer mediation programs enable young people to develop soft skills as they approach monumental changes from their teens into adult hood.

Course Aims

Our peer mediation course has two learning objectives for the trainees:

1. Trainees learn the basic skills of mediation and negotiation.

2. The trainees learn how to train students through a structured mediation process of 6 stages where mediation and negotiation skills are implemented.

After the completion of the three-day course, the trainees are able to conduct their own peer mediation program with credibility and effectiveness.
