Course Overview

This 5-day programme provides you with 40-hours of first class training as a Civil-Commercial Mediator. The programme is taught by global experts whom have decades of experience. Successful completion of the programme results in you gaining the status ‘ADR-ODR International accredited Civil-Commercial Mediator’. Once you have completed the course we can offer you 12 hours of online Civil-Commercial Mediation Training which will allow you to gain status as an ‘ADR-ODR International accredited Online Civil-Commercial Mediator.’

This UK Civil Mediation Council accredits this programme. This gives it an internationally recognised kite mark of excellence, which means graduates of this course find it straightforward to begin their mediation practice in many jurisdictions across the world.

The course aims to teach the delegates how to effectively mediate and what skills need to be possessed by each delegate in order to be successful on this course.

  • Give a basic understanding of how conflicts arise
  • Introduction to conflict resolution
  • Basic skills needed to negotiate through a conflict
  • Principles behind negotiation
  • Introduction to mediation
  • Mediator’s code of conduct
  • Five stages of mediation
  • Mediation, and communication skills

DDRS Diploma

Did you know that this course is one of four courses that make up the DDRS Diploma? By completing this course, you gain specialised skills in dispute resolution while also earning credits towards the prestigious Certificate of
Advanced Studies (CAS) in International Business Disputes from the University of Lausanne (subject to meeting the university's requirements). Additionally, these credits can count towards an LLM in Dispute Resolution with a fee reduction of up to 25%. The university and international course includes two options of a single payment or a payment plan that will need to be paid before the course begins.
