Style & Approach

Mediation is an opportunity for parties not only to discuss their grievances and goals in a completely confidential setting, but also to hear in a more direct and personal way than solicitors’ letters the grievances and goals of the other party to the dispute in a controlled and managed environment.

My position as a mediator, in my mind, is to facilitate open and frank discussions between parties as to their positions, their goals, and the routes to those goals. This entails a sensitive approach to fact-finding, a dedicated outlining of the harsh and stressful nature of litigation, and a firm but fair hand in pointing out the weaknesses of parties’ stated cases.
