Course Overview

India is on its way to becoming a global player in the mediation landscape. The coming of the Indian Mediation Bill is a testament to both the growth of ADR in India and how important it is for every Indian Lawyer to have ADR skills well embedded
in their legal careers.

In the coming times, mediation, arbitration, and negotiation [all core ADR skills] are going to be some of the most important skills needed for a future lawyer. These skills are not going to be important just today or tomorrow, but also years down the road. The global movement towards ADR and the developments in the Indian Mediation Landscape, signify the power of facilitating dialogue for a mutually acceptable solution rather than fighting for a win.

In order to excel as an ADR Practitioner, it is important to first understand the process thoroughly. Building a strong foundation and knowing the process before you embark on your journey to become a Mediator is paramount. AOI, India is here to help you build that foundation.

to help you test the waters of ADR before you decide to become an accredited ADR Practitioner.

Course Aims

The workshop aims to provide the participants with a detailed understanding of the basics of mediation and negotiation and give a kickstart to their journey of becoming an accredited ADR Practitioner. The transformative two-day workshop is designed to equip you with the knowledge and techniques needed to navigate conflicts, find common ground, and reach mutually beneficial agreements. 

Course Details

Our course runs for 6 days and will cover some of the following topics; the history and future of mediation, the psychology of conflict, negotiation and cultural context. The course also covers the various stages of a mediation and with the supervision of a trainer each delegate is guided on how to successfully navigate each stage effectively. 

Following completion of the theoretical and practical stages, each delegate will have the opportunity to implement the skills they have acquired by conducting a full mediation before the final assessment day.

This training can be completed in Hybrid Format: Hereby, the first three days are held online via Zoom for everyone and the second three days are in-person. You can choose your location when our global faculty visits India for the In-Person Training. 
The training can also be done completely online and this allows the participants to interact with delegates from different countries and build an international network while being based in India.
